Amberwood Residents,I am writing to let you know about a problem we are having at the pool and the new policy adopted by the board for after hours pool rentals. Family Swim Gym (FSG) provides maintenance and lifeguards for our pool. FSG staff has advised us of problems with resident compliance with our rule requiring proper swim attire. This is a portion of the e-mail from FSG to RealManage followed by our rule.
“The Biggest problem that we encounter every weekend is proper swim attire. They claim they can also wear basketball, gym shorts and everything. We have people showing up playing all types of sports this past weekend and have made your pool become really cloudy as they don’t shower off after being recommended, and they are wearing underwear which is cotton too. More and more residents are not wearing swim attire but just coming in off the streets and coming to the pool.”
8. Proper swim attire is required. No “cut-offs” are allowed. Please respect all cultural differences with family friendly attire. (Community of Amberwood Pool Rules, General Requirements & Conduct)
I have also checked other HOA websites and public pool rules for clarification of proper swim attire. These are the best examples from other websites:
- Proper attire consists of a bathing suit. Please no undergarments, thongs or street clothes.
- A swimsuit, bathing suit, or swimming costume is an item of clothing designed to be worn while participating in water sports and activities such as swimming, water polo, diving, surfing, water skiing, or for any activity in the sun, such as sun bathing.
- Proper swim wear is required. Swim wear should be lined and may not be transparent at any time. Cut off jeans, hard metal objects and thongs or t-back swim wear bottoms will not be permitted. No denim clothing or revealing swim wear is permitted.
- Bathers must wear proper swimming apparel. No make shift suits are permitted.
I am requesting all residents support FSG in the uniform enforcement of our rules and refrain from requesting exceptions to our rules from the lifeguards. These FSG employees are simply following the guidelines provided to them by the board and RealManage.
The board has also developed a policy for after hours rental of the Amberwood swimming pool. It was probably time for the policy but a request from residents to rent the pool for an after hours event moved it to the forefront. Due to this request, the board wanted to have a policy that provided the same rental opportunity to all Amberwood residents.Basically the policy is fairly short and limits use to Friday and Saturday night between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm. All requests will be handled by RealManage. Current hourly rates for lifeguards are $30 for two or $45 for three. I have included the current policy for your information.
Thanks for helping us keep Amberwood great.Tom Witt
